Will share the track with a GR010 and Z06 GT3.R

Ford’s new Mustang GT3 is set to hit the track at Sebring International Raceway this week, in what will be the new-for 2024 car’s first major test.

Built by Multimatic and with a 5-litre V8 engine prepared by M-Sport, the car is set for up to three days of testing from Monday. It will share the track not only with the Toyota Gazoo Racing GR010 HYBRID Hypercar (the reigning World Champion opting to use Sebring for its final pre-Le Mans test), but also a car that the new Ford is set to do battle with in the 2023 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s GTD Pro class, and in customer hands in GTD: Chevrolet’s new Corvette Z06 GT3.R.

The Mustang, unveiled at the Rolex 24 Hours in 2022, was initially announced as being set for a public unveiling during Super Sebring but that prospect was withdrawn some weeks ago.

DSC understands that the test will feature a single Mustang with Ford and Multimatic drivers Joey Hand and Harry Tincknell set to be on driving duties.
