Hello all I am a recent retired firefighter here in New York I’m only 57 years old and I’ve had almost 20 Mustangs in my life. 6 Shelby GT500s, Shelby GT 350, Mach 1, 93 cobras, multiple fox body Mustangs. I just ordered a 2026 GT premium fully loaded, performance pack and I’m about to cancel because I really want a dark horse. I’m going to post a thread and ask some questions. I hope I get it and have a lot of fun hanging out here.

I only wish that I could retire at 57!
The GT is a fine car, especially fully loaded.
You get a lot of bang for your buck, but it still ain't a Dark Horse.
I don't care what anybody says, and there are a lot of Dark Horse nay-sayers out there; if you can afford it, and it's what you want, get the Dark Horse.
You don't have to track it to enjoy it and at the end of the day it's your car and it's your money. Get the one that you want and enjoy it!

I ordered this spec mid January Love the Grabber Blue. Traded my 2023 C8 for it. Had to get back to a manual after the last two Autos. (2021 GT 500 and the C8). Order what you want. You deserve it and thank you for your service.

Hey YFD_223. The Tremec alone is worth it. Sweetest shifting car I've ever driven. Yet it's the whole package cohesively that makes the Dark Horse what it is. There isn't any one standout thing; it's everything together.
It's the best of Jekyll & the best of Hyde. You can purr thru town, & at the slightest provocation of the LOUD pedal, it's a savage.
A buddy of mine has a very nicely built/equipped S550 GT. I would take my Dark Horse every day of the week & twice on Sundays.
